Operating instructions and warranty
Setting the time
- Pull the crown to the first position and then to the second position;
- Adjust the time , turning the crown in the desired direction;
- Return the crown to its original position, but again consistently;
Setting the date
- Before you start changing the date, scroll the hands through 12 hours, keeping track of the date. If the date changes as you move through 12 hours, it means that the time is currently striking midnight. Move the hands to the bottom of the dial (below 3 and 9 o’clock);
- Return the crown one step to the left towards the clock – in the first position;
- Turn the crown until the desired number is displayed in the date window;
- Return the crown to its original position;
- If the crown is on a screw, make sure you screw the crown to the case securely after changing the date/time.
Adjusting the hands and seconds
- Pull the crown to the first position and then to the second position;
- The second hand immediately stops its movement;
- Return the crown to its original position, but again consistently. The second hand will start moving after exactly one second (this is the process provided for adjusting the hands, allowing you to achieve perfect synchronisation with the precise time signal);
Automatic watches
The self-winding device in the automatic watch keeps it constantly wound while someone is wearing it. If you leave it at rest, it will keep running for 38 to 80 hours (depending on the mechanism). It can then be wound manually.
Mechanical watches
Mechanical mechanisms require manual winding every 30 to 40 hours. To wind such a mechanism, it is necessary to wind the crown about 30-40 times (without pulling it out)
Quartz watches
Quartz movements are battery-powered and do not need a time check (except when changing daylight saving time and standard time). Some models have a battery indicator that shows when the battery is low and needs replacing or recharging (on solar models). There are models with an EOL (End Of Life) system. With these, the second hand starts jumping every 4 seconds when the battery is almost dead and it’s time to change it.
Do not leave a dead battery in your watch as this can damage the mechanism.
References
Your watch, like all other micro-mechanical devices, must be serviced by a 212 Ltd representative at least once every three years.
Waterproof
As a result of a strong impact, your watch can lose its water resistance without you ever realising. Therefore, if you intend to use it underwater, check its water resistance at least once every 12 months. If for any reason the housing must be opened, ask your 212 Ltd representative to check the watertight seals around the crown and on the back of the housing, and replace them if necessary. Before using the watch in water, always check that the crown is screwed all the way down (on models with a screw crown).
